At Blue Ridge Meats we specialize in the finest hormone and antibiotic free, locally produced meats. We carry local dairy products, honey, eggs and condiments and have our own line of prepared meals.

 

History

 

Blue Ridge Meats was opened in 2005 when Chris and his family were looking to expand the market for their locally produced lamb and beef.  Chris had spent over 30 years farming and he and his business partners were seeking out new opportunities for small scale meat producers and looking for the finest in clean meats.  Noticing a lack of places for consumers to discover the bounty of  fine local products, the family wanted to create an outlet in the area with an emphasis on natural farm fresh items, which would also cater to an interested and knowledgeable customer. They have continually grown their operation, expanding  from their fresh meat beginnings into the creation of many prepared meals.  In 2011 Chris' son  Matt joined his dad at the shop, and brought his butcher experience from Montreal to Collingwood expanding the selection of their own meals & introducing new specialty sausages. All this while sustaining a strong selection of healthy farm raised meat products.
